This is the day. for 5/24

Isaiah 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

This is a very interesting verse. Many people believe that Isaiah had not been able to see the Lord high and lifted up until this time because he had been focusing on king Uzziah. My question to all of us is simply this, "Who are we watching?" The emphasis in the world today is on 'heroes', 'idols', and the 'lifestyles of the rich and famous.' If we are not very careful, we can also, as Christians, begin to focus on people instead of God. When we begin to focus on people, then God loses that position of being high and lifted up in our lives, and our spirtual lives will suffer. As a Christian, God must always be first.

Who are you watching?
(Some people who can take your focus off God)
I. Fantastic sports stars. Such a big draw today.
II. Fashionable actors. The world's "pretty people."
III. The Forbes top 500. "Oh, how i would like to be 'that rich!'"
IV. Famous preachers. Uzziah was actually a good king, but that was not where Isaiah should have had his eyes.
V. Family. Little league sports, athletics, activities, school, church: what a blurr life can be today. God still must be first in all things.
