This is the day.

I Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

What a hard thing for us to do! When someone has a quarrel with us, it is our nature to fight back to undermine them with all we have. We struggle to "get even" or to "let them have it." Peter warns against this, saying not to return evil for evil. Why should we try to humbly accept the evils of others toward us? Well, the Bible says here that if we do not seek revenge, we will be able to love life and see good days. Revenge is a natural reaction in our lives, but with the grace of God, we can overcome this though process, and live "the good life."

People in the Bible who were spiritually hurt by revenge.
I. Cain (driven from God, went to Hell)
II. Saul (God's good spirit departed from Him)
III. Jezebel (thrown out a window, went to Hell)
IV. The New Testament Jews (crucified Jesus, took the blame upon their children)
