Exodus 15:8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.     The word heart as used here refers to the center of the sea.  The heart is the center of our lives.  Out of it come all the issues of life.  Out of the heart the mouth speaks.  Out of the heart comes lusts and envyings, and, thereby, wars and strife.  Out of the heart comes the repentance that is necessary for salvation.  From the heart comes the desire to serve God, and the desire to live a life that is honorable to God.  Because the heart is the center of our being, it is vitally important to insure that the heart stays right with God.  Daily prayer, Bible reading, and an attitude of worship and praise will keep our hearts where they need to be, and will keep us on the right track to pleasing and serving God.
