This is the day.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Again, speaking of the deceitfulness of the heart. Another thing that comes to my mind about how the heart deceives so many, is in their profession. So many people have gone to the altar, and said a prayer, only to get up in the same condition that they came in. The heart of man has an element about it that allows it to be religious, and therefore convince a sinner that he/she is ok. How sad the passages are in the New Testament where Jesus says He will tell many in the day of judgment, "I never knew you." Even though these people will claim to have lived right, and to have done mighty and wonderful works in the name of Jesus, they will have missed the most important thing of all, that is, repentance and true acceptance of the Saviour. Friend, please don't let your heart deceive you into thinking you are saved when you are not. The Bible says you believe with your heart, and that you will have the witness of the Holy Spirit in your heart, if these two things do not add up in your life, then you need to examine your heart, and see if you are really a child of God. If you don't have assurance, you more than likely need to really do business with God, and quit pretending to be a Christian.
