This is the day. for 8/5

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The heart can deceive you in your perception.  Think of Saul the King of Israel.  He was not right with God, and began to think evil of David.  David loved Saul, fought for him, and even kept his own men from killing Saul.  However, Saul made up his mind, because his heart was not right with God, that David was out to get him.

As Christians, we should be very careful not to allow ourselves to fall in this trap.  We can look at someone, and think that they have a problem with us, or that they are out to get us when their intentions are completely innocent.  We can say, "I know what they are thinking.", but we really don't.   When we get out of sorts with God, we tend to start thinking that people are out to get us.  We should try to maintain the attitude that Jesus preached in the gospels.  The attitude of turning the other cheek, and of loving even our enemies.  David was soothing Saul's soul with music the first time Saul tried to kill him.  David was not standing against Saul, but was rather trying to help him.  We should all try to be "wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

We need to bring our minds into subjection to God, then we can have a real relationship with Him, and we will be able to think good things about others.
